Goal:
Student J has been studying at a bilingual school in China, and the family was hoping to apply to an affordable international school in Singapore that emphasises academic excellence and rigour, with the ultimate goal of enrolling in a local school in Singapore. After considering various international schools, we found The Perse School to be the best fit for their needs. The Perse School is known for its strong academic reputation and holistic approach to student development.
Solution:
The family decided to apply to The Perse School, and we administered an English diagnostic test for Student J. Upon evaluating his English proficiency and academic performance, we identified gaps in his writing and interview skills, which did not meet the school’s admission criteria. Through targeted guidance and focused preparation, Student J made significant strides in communication, interview skills, and overall English proficiency. As a result, he became more confident, composed, and fully prepared for admission.
Outcome:
Student J has been successfully admitted to The Perse School and will begin his studies this August in the English as an Additional Language (EAL) program. We will continue to work closely with the family, aiming to transition him to a local Singaporean school in the coming years.
